Have you ever hear Naan? Yes, it is a traditional bread from North India. Naan is tasteless, so the Indian meals it for dinner, to subtitute rice as usual food. Commonly, Naans are cooked in “tandoor” or clay ovens. Now, people making Naans by grilled in modern ovens.
Naan are always made with all purpose flour. It is made flat shape and dry texture. Naans are served as main food with meat, tandoori and curry. You can find Naan in restaurants or along side the North India. Generally, Naans which we get in restaurants is slathered with butter. Naan is a unique bread because it seen a bubbles on the top.
INGREDIENTS
4 cup of wheat flour
½ teaspoon of baking powder
1 teaspoon of salt
1 tablespoon of sugar
4 tablespoon of cooking oil
1 tablespoon of cumin.
½ glass of hot milk
1 egg
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Take the baking powder, sugar and water into a bowl, stir the mixture.
2. Then add 1 cup of wheat flour, and stir it with the rest of baking powder mixture.
3. Cover and keep a side to leaven for 45 minutes.
4. Then add the remaining the wheat flour.
5. Knead to a soft and smooth dough.
6. If the dough become sticky, add a few tablespoon of flour and knead again. If its dry, then add some more water.
7. Cover Naan doughand keep for 30 minutes.
8. Divine the dough into medium balls.
9. Give the resting time to the dough for about 15 minutes, cover it.
10. Lightly dust the dough balls with some flour.
11.Roll into a small size balls, medium thickness.
12. Place Naan on griddle.
13. When the bottom is partly cooked, flip. You will see bubbles on Naan.
14. Naan will puff up, and then place the hot Naans in plate.
