Shawarma has got to be the most popular street snack almost everyone enjoys in Middle East Country. But now Shawarma are easy to find in every country in the world, included Indonesia. Shawarma got famous at Indonesia after bring by some imigrans from Turkey, Lebanon and Arabic.
There are various types of shawarma such as: Beef Shawarma, Chicken Shawarma, Fish Shawarma, etc. Shawarma has its own unique taste. Below are how to make Shawarma.
INGREDIENTS
5 pieces Pita Bread (Shawarma bread)
7 Chunk of beef
1 Scotch bonnets (Yellow/Red pepper)
1 small onion
1 seasoning cubes
¼ bulb ginger
2 cloves garlic
½ teaspoon of salt
½ teaspoon curry
¼ teaspoon thyme
Vegetable oil
2 medium sized carrots
½ small cabbage
1 medium sized green bell pepper
½ medium sized cucumber
2 teaspoon chili powder
Mayonnaise
Ketchup
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Chop the cabbage, grate the carrots, dice the green pepper & slice the cucumber. And separated each other.
2. Dice the beef and place in a small pot.
3. Blend onion, garlic, ginger, scotch bonnets and pour into the pot with diced beef.
4. Season with stock cubes, salt, curry & thyme. Add some water and cook till tender for about 15mins. Stir fry on vegetable oils for about 3 minutes.
5. Get one pita bread and open the pocket, divides it into two. Place one on top of the other.
6. Rub mayonnaise over the bread on top.
7. Add the cabbage, carrot, green pepper, cucumber, Beef – Sprinkle with powdered chili and drizzle with ketchup and more mayonnaise.
8. Fold to seal the contents.
9. Greased the pan with a little vegetable oil and place Shawarma on.
10. Let Shawarma heat up. Flip and do the same for the other side.
11. Serve.
