Omurice is a popular omelete and japanese fried rice combination in japan. you can make it in a simple way at home but did not lose with cuisine restaurant. Its usually make from rest rice and it is very simple in the making. Not more than 20 minutes from preparatin until finish. You can try this at home, just follow our gudance !
Ingredients :
½ medium onion, 1 chicken thigh, rinsed and pat dry, 1 Tbsp. olive oil, ½ cup frozen mixed vegetables, defrosted, Salt, Freshly ground black pepper, 1½ cups cooked Japanese rice, 1 Tbsp. ketchup and more for decoration, 1 tsp. soy sauce
For 1 omelette : 1 large egg, 1 Tbsp. Milk, 1 Tbsp. olive oil, 3 Tbsp. sharp cheddar cheese (or any kind)
1. Chopped the union until smooth
2. Sliced the chicken meat into 1 cm pieces
3. Warmed up the oil using non stick pan and saute onion until wilted
4. Put the chiccken and cook until the colour changed in to brown
5. Put the mixed vegetables and seasoned with salt and pepper
6. Put the rice on the pan and break it until small pieces
7. Conti nued with put ketchup and soy sauce and stir evenly using spatula. Moving the fried rice in to a plate and cleaned the pan
8. Shake the egg and milk in a small ball
9. Warmed the oil in the pan in the medium high heat. make sure the surface of the pot is well coated by oil
10. Put the mixtured egg in to the pan, when its getting hot in a tilt position to coated the bottom of the pot
11. Reduce the heat ehen the bottom side of the egg has cooked, but still soft at the top
12. Fold the sides of omelete toward the middle in order to covered the fried rice using the spatula.then moved the omorice slowly to the other side of the pan
13. Hold the plate and the pan in the same time, flip the pan then put the omurice in to plate
Cover the omurice using the paper towel while its still hot, then formed it in to an american / rugby football shape. Add the ketchup on the top of as decoration. Contined making the omelete untill the fried rice are eshausted
