Jeonbokjuk Recipe, the Abalone Porridge from Jeju Island

South Korea exploded famous because of Korean pop culture who crashing through entertainment activities undertaken by artist and their agents. All about Korean is very interesting, especially for young in the world. One of them is tourist destinations in Korea will be rise like a rocket. For example Jeju Island, this island became famous since 2009, when Lee Min Hoo and his friends play role in drama Boys over Flowers. This drama had been showing beautiful view of Jeju Island.
Beyond that, this drama has also introducing some unique culinary in South Korea, one of them is Abalone Porridge. In this article we want to tell you about Jeonbokjuk, the abalone porridge in Jeju Island version. You need to know, abalone is made from mixture of shellfish.
Here’s how to make it:

INGREDIENTS:
4 shells of abalone
4 cups rice (soak in water)
3 cloves garlic (soft chopped)
200 grams carrots (soft cut)
4 tablespoon sesame oil
1 leek (soft cut)
1 teaspoon salt
4 pieces Korean date palm
10 grams sesame seeds
10 grams seaweed powder

INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Wash abalone shells
2. Break all shells and grab the meat
3. Cut carrots and leek till soft
4. Prepare a pan on the stove. Pour sesame oil at pan
5. Saute garlic, leek, and carrots until dry and perfumed
6. Put abalone into pan, stir well for 2 minutes
7. Enter rice into pan
8. Pour water into pan (two knuckles on the top surface of rice)
9. Cook until done about 45 minutes
10. If already cooked, turn off stove
11. Take abalone porridge with a ladle, pour in to a bowl
12. Next, you should prepare a topping or side dish for porridge. It’s simple step. You just have to sprinkle seaweed powder, Korean date palm, and leek
13. Finally, Jeonbokjuk is ready to eat. Congratulations!
