Stromboli Pizza Homemade Recipe

Stromboli Pizza is most simple homemade cooking. This pizza is stuffed with: pork sausage, sliced ham, hard salami, American cheese and mozzarella cheese, then rolled into a loaf and baked to a crispy and cheesy perfection.

Yield : 3 servings

Ingredients:
1/2 pound bulk pork sausage (optional)
1 (1 pound) loaf frozen bread dough, thawed (or you can make your own)
4 slices thinly sliced ham
4 slices hard salami
4 slices American cheese
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
salt and ground black pepper to taste
1 egg white, lightly beaten

For the dough (if you make your own)
2⁄3 cup water
1 tablespoon oil
2 cups flour
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon table salt
1 1⁄3 teaspoons instant yeast

Direction
1. Make the dough (if you make your own): Mix in a large bowl until all ingredients are wetted, cover and let rest 5 minutes.
2. Knead by hand using a minimum of flour for 5 minutes and place in a straight sided container that has been oiled and cover.
3. After 20 minutes, tip dough onto a lightly oiled counter and stretch into a rectangle. Fold the top down and the bottom up letter-style and do the same side to side. Transfer into the container and cover.
4. After the dough has risen to double it’s volume, tip the dough onto a lightly floured counter and cover with oiled plastic wrap.
5. Set oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
6. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add sausage, cook and stir for about 10 minutes or until crumbly, evenly browned, and no longer pink. Drain and discard any excess grease.
7. Pat out bread dough on an ungreased baking sheet, to 3/4-inch thickness.
8. Place and lay salami, ham, and American cheese slices in center of dough.
9. Drizzle with mozzarella cheese, salt, pepper, and cooked sausage. Wrap dough to cover ingredients, pinching and sealing edges to prevent leakage; brush top with egg white.
10. Bake in preheated oven for 17 to 20 minutes or until dough is baked and lightly browned,.
