A strudel-like piece of delicacy, packed flat-out with satisfyings like poppyseed, cherry, or apple and topped with powdered sugar. Retes or strudel, is among Hungary's most notorious foods. This's ideal to cook Retes on a warm and comfortable morning, because the dough can be rumbled more quickly in a warm space. Just one thick piece of favorable Retes and a cupful of Hungarian espresso and you're put for at least a mid-day.
Ingredients:
• 1 ea recipe strudel dough or phyllo dough
• 3/4 C. butter, melted
• 1/2 C. fine bread crumbs
• 8 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored and cut thin
• 1/2 C. chopped walnuts
• 1/2 C. sugar
• 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
Instructions:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Set a sheet of strudel dough on a moist kitchen towel and butter nicely with thawed butter.
3. Spread with a delicate layer of bread crumbs and top with a second layer of dough.
4. Comb this layer with butter and spray with some of the bread crumbs.
5. Rerun, creating a second strudel bottom.
6. Shake together the apples, walnuts, sugar, cinnamon and remaining bread crumbs.
7. Spread partly the apple mix on a 3 inch strip down the middle of each dough, keeping 2 ins of area on each part.
8. Scroll the strudel with the help of the towel, jelly roll fashion, gazing at the long side nearby you.
9. Embed the sides of the dough and put the strudel seam, side low on a buttered baking sheet.
10. Comb kindly with area of remaining butter.
11. Repeat using second strudel.
12. Bake the strudels in a preheated oven for 35-30 mins.
13. Eliminate it 10 mins prior to cooking time is done, if they are light brown too swiftly tent with aluminum foil.
14. Dust the strudels using sorted confectioners' sugar and serve hot.
