Does tomato soup make you gain weight? Does tomato soup make your skin smoother? Maybe some people have these question on their mind. Tomatoes are believed to have many health benefits that can not be ignored in any way.
Tomatoes are source of Vitamin C, vitamin A, vitamin K and others important minerals, dietary fibers and protein needed by the body to maintain healthy skin and other body organs like heart diseases, liver, kidneys. Apart from all these, tomatoes help in the cases of high cholesterol.

For me, I have a great way to consume this magical fruit as tomato soup. And now I will share with you the recipe that I believe it will make you fall in love with this version. Here we go!
Preparation time: 30 minutes
Cook time: 1 hour 30 minutes
Total time: 2 hours
Yield: 4 servings
Ingredients
7 cups peeled, seeded, and chopped tomato
3/4 cup finely chopped onion
1 (13.75 ounce) can chicken broth
1 cup finely chopped carrots
1 cup 2% milk
1 tablespoon white sugar
2 teaspoons sea salt
3 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon celery salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons dried basil
Direction :
1. Combine the tomatoes, carrots and onion in the bowl.
2. Heat a stockpot to over medium-high, transfer the combine ingredients from the bowl to the stockpot. Reduce the heat to medium low, simmer for 30 minutes, slowly pour in the chicken broth, sprinkle in a good pinch of sugar and black pepper, stir gently.
3. Heat a small saucepan to over medium low, add and melt the butter. Whisk the flour and stir gently until thick. Pour in the milk and whisking until smooth. Cook and give it good stir, whisking constantly for about 5 minutes until thickened.
4. Transfer the milk mixture to the stockpot. Season with basil, garlic powder, celery salt, garlic powder and black pepper. And then Continue to simmer the soup on low to reduce and thicken, about 1 hour.
5. Remove from the stockpot, ladle into bowls and serve.
